- 乙不栽植，千株不长Traditional saying: on 乙 (Yǐ) days, don't plant; it was said to keep a thousand seedlings from growing.
- 丑不冠带，主不还乡Traditional saying: on 丑 (Chǒu, Ox) days, don't put on cap and sash; it was said to keep the wearer from returning home.

Tai Sui (Year)
Tai Sui sits in the West for the year, opposing the East. Traditionally, almanacs advise against major construction, ground-breaking or burial in either direction until the next 立春 (Lichun).

Chariot, one of the seven mansions of the Vermilion Bird in the south; auspicious in the traditional count.
