These terms apply to anyone using the site at bazi8.net. The whole thing is intentionally short. The site is free, educational, and built to be useful. The terms reflect that.
Using the site
You can use the calculator, the naming tool, the almanac, and the reading library for personal study, professional reference, or curiosity. No account is required, no payment is required, no permission is required. You may quote short passages with attribution. You may not scrape the site at scale, copy the calculation engine and republish it as your own, or build a competing product on top of our content without writing it yourself.
What the site is, and isn’t
BaZi (八字) is a structural model of personality and timing patterns developed in classical Chinese metaphysics. The calculations are mechanical and verifiable. The interpretive content is the editorial voice of this site, written carefully but not claimed as the only valid reading. Nothing here is a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. If you are facing a real-world decision in any of those areas, consult a qualified professional. Accuracy
We work hard to make the calculations correct and the writing honest. We make no guarantee that every detail is free of errors, that every interpretation will resonate, or that the engine handles every edge case in your tradition. If you find a real mistake, we want to know. Corrections to the engine are treated as bugs and fixed; corrections to the content are treated as editorial revisions and noted.
No warranty
The site is provided “as is.” We make no warranty, express or implied, that the site will be available, error-free, fit for any particular purpose, or that any output is accurate, reliable, or appropriate for any decision you might make based on it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.
Your content
If you submit feedback, corrections, or factual notes, you grant us permission to use that input to improve the site, including incorporating fixes or rewording suggestions into the published content. You retain ownership of your own ideas; we do not claim copyright on what you tell us.
Third-party content and links
Where the site references named individuals (case studies, day master profile examples, famous-chart entries), those references rely on publicly known birth data and published biographies. If you believe a chart attribution is wrong, the about page explains how we verify and correct attributions. Outbound links are provided as references; we are not responsible for the content or practices of any external site.
Changes to the site or these terms
The site evolves. Pages get rewritten, features get added, and occasionally something gets removed when it stops being useful. We may update these terms when the site’s practices change in a way that materially affects users; when we do, we will update the “last updated” date and note the change in the commit history of the public source.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site’s operating team is based, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Nothing in these terms restricts any non-waivable consumer rights you may have under the law of your own jurisdiction.
