Privacy Policy

This site is built to be readable without an account, without ads, and without third-party tracking. The privacy posture follows from that: we collect as little as possible, store almost nothing, and share nothing with anyone. The detail below is what that actually means in practice.
Birth data you enter into the calculator
When you use the chart calculator, naming tool, or compatibility tool, you type in birth dates, times, and locations. That data is sent to our server only long enough to compute the result, and is not stored, logged, associated with you, or shared with any third party. There is no account system, so there is nothing for the data to be attached to. If you reload the page, the form may remember your last entry on your own device (via your browser’s local storage), but that copy never leaves your device.
What we don’t collect
No name, email address, phone number, postal address, IP-based location, or device fingerprint is collected as part of using the calculator. We do not run third-party analytics, advertising scripts, social-media pixels, or fingerprinting libraries. We do not sell, rent, or share data, because there is no data to sell, rent, or share.
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard web-server access logs, request URL, response code, IP address, user-agent, timestamp, for a short retention window as part of normal operations and abuse prevention. We do not access these logs except to debug an outage. They are not joined with any chart you computed, because no chart input is logged in the first place.
Cookies and local storage
The site does not set any tracking or advertising cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage to remember small preferences on your device, your last chart inputs, your preferred language, your theme. None of that is sent to our server. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
Embeds and outbound links
We do not embed third-party widgets, video players, comment systems, or social-media share buttons. Outbound links go where they say they go. If you click through to another site, that site’s privacy practices apply, not ours.
Children
The site is suitable for general audiences. The naming tool computes Chinese name candidates from a child’s birth chart, but the only data submitted is the chart inputs themselves, no name, contact information, or any other identifier of the child or parent is collected.
Your rights
Because we do not store any personally identifiable information, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. If you have a question about that, the contact route is the same as for editorial corrections, see the about page.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and bump the “last updated” date at the top. We are not in the habit of making this kind of change quietly.
