- 乙不栽植，千株不长Traditional saying: on 乙 (Yǐ) days, don't plant; it was said to keep a thousand seedlings from growing.
- 巳不远行，财物伏藏Traditional saying: on 巳 (Sì, Snake) days, don't travel far; it was said to send wealth and goods into hiding.

Tai Sui (Year)
Tai Sui sits in the West for the year, opposing the East. Traditionally, almanacs advise against major construction, ground-breaking or burial in either direction until the next 立春 (Lichun).
