- 壬不泱水，更难提防Traditional saying: on 壬 (Rén) days, don't release water; it was said to make floods harder to guard against.
- 申不安床，鬼祟入房Traditional saying: on 申 (Shēn, Monkey) days, don't set up a bed; it was said to let ghosts into the room.

Tai Sui (Year)
Tai Sui sits in the South for the year, opposing the North. Traditionally, almanacs advise against major construction, ground-breaking or burial in either direction until the next 立春 (Lichun).

Ghost, one of the seven mansions of the Vermilion Bird in the south; inauspicious in the traditional count.
Lucky and unlucky hours
Yellow-path (黄道) hours are lucky and black-path (黑道) hours unlucky, by the traditional day-god cycle. ★ marks the noble-person hours for this day.
